Aim of module

Package script providing a set of forestry related tools.

General description

opalsForest combines a set of tools for calculating landcover dependent DSMs, for deriving forest masks, for estimating biomass and forestry related applications.

The Python script opalsForest is the main script for the corresponding opalsForest package. It uses multiple sub-scripts to create different forest related products. The following aspects are covered:

• Landcover dependent DSMs: based on the approach of Hollaus et al. (2010)
• Forest masks: based on the approach of Eysn et al. (2012)
• Top height calculation
