Detailed Description

Derives forest boundaries from topographic models (DTM, DSM, ...) based on a specific forest definition.

An nDSM, a DTM and any kind of roughness indicator map derived from 3D point clouds, e.g. from ALS or image matching, serve as input for the derivation of forest boundary maps. The derived parameters (tree height, crown coverage, size and shape of connected forest area, etc.) are checked against predefined thresholds (i.e. specific forest definition)
